THE relationship between Pakistan and the US has historically been bedevilled with mistrust and misc.

bx-zone.com says :-
Magnificent Delusions focuses on the decades old relationship of USA and Pakistan. The nature of the relationship between America and Pakistan is like a see-saw. Husain Haqqani, the author of Magnificent Delusions, was the ambassador to Washington from Pakistan from 2008 to 2011. Haqqani has been critical of Pakistan’s leadership and has called the leaders as liars, self-centered and egotistical. Haqqani has been vocal on his criticism of Pakistan; he was also accused of asking help from the United States to bring in control by force the Pakistan military. He was thus discharged of his duties followed by Pakistan labelling him as a traitor. In the book, Husain Haqqani has blamed Pakistan’s leaders for not keeping their promises made for receiving the financial and military aids. One of the promises Magnificent Delusions points out towards is self-dependency. Every time Pakistan has asked for financial and arms help from the US, the troubled nation has ensured that it is on the path of being independent, however, the truth is known to everybody. No book that is written on Pakistan’s history can afford to exclude India from it. Haqqani has criticized Pakistan for waging wars against India to capture Indian occupied Kashmir. He has blamed the military leaders and commands to keep Pakistan at war when that time should have been used for the social and the economic development of the country. Clearly Magnificent Delusions insinuates the vested interests of leaders who worked less for the people and more for their egos. You will find the mention of James Langley, quite a value-add to the book as back in 1957 Langley raised the alarm of the imminent danger if at all America helped arming Pakistan. Seems like history has leaned a lot towards the prediction of Langley. One of the few times during which Pakistan proved to be of help to America was when it helped establish an NSA post on its land. By using its strategic location USA carried out spy missions in Russia during the Cold War. Also, during the tenure of George Bush, Pakistan became a US ally by assisting on counterterrorism operations against Taliban post Sept 11, 2001. However, Haqqani points out a terrible mistake of the leaders of using its prosperous years to fight against India. Magnificent Delusions offers a lot of content from a diplomat who was labeled as a traitor, however, he believed that by criticizing all the wrong he is pro-Pakistan.
